Recently, Citigroup-owned broadband service provider, YOU Telecom, delivered a smooth bandwidth solution to help one of Chennai's well known hospitals effectively render a dual-location Web cast.
YOU Telecom is now planning on providing this service in 11 other cities of the country.
Web casting aka Internet Broadcasting is the process of capturing, encoding, hosting, and delivering multimedia events -- usually from a remote location -- for the purpose of Internet broadcast.
Live events need an Internet connection while others can be archived for viewing on demand.
A 'one to many' communications medium, a Web cast can be viewed by as many people as possible. All one needs to do is log onto the concerned Web site, and be a part of the Web cast.
